A photo I took of the Airbus A380 made it onto BBC News 24 in May 2006 — shown by Huw Edwards during a readers' pictures segment. The aircraft had just completed its first public airshow appearances in the UK.
Here's the funny part: I wasn't even in Surbiton when I captured it. Instead, I was at The Green Man pub in Hatton Cross with a group of other plane spotters, positioned right under the Heathrow approach. If that beast had been flying that low over Surbiton, I'd have been sprinting to get out of the way.
