A long weekend with a practical purpose: stock up on tobacco at De Panne. The ride there and back warranted something more interesting than a straight Channel run, so Koblenz became the destination — two nights away, Belgium and Germany, ~1,400 km.
The outbound leg touched the Belgian coast at De Panne before cutting inland to Ghent for the night. Day two pushed east through Liège into Germany, following the Rhine down to Koblenz. The return on day three swung west through the Moselle valley and into the Belgian Ardennes — Malmedy, Stavelot, Rochefort — before Brussels, back to the coast, and another stop at De Panne before the Dunkirk ferry home.
